I went to so many great gigs this year, it was actually really hard to choose a top ten this time! I had to leave out great shows from artists like Margo Price, Tift Merritt, Pearl Charles and Wet Leg, to name but a few, even the fantastic Thurston Moore show where he brought out his beautiful dogs and I got to pet them! But of course, once again, the year was all about seeing MJ Lenderman again, twice! And both shows were mind-blowingly good. It was a treat to see him at the Electric Ballroom, especially knowing we would probably never see him in such a small venue again. The Roundhouse was a lot bigger but then we got his Wednesday bandmate Karly Hartzman joining him on stage, which made it even more special. And then there was the pure joy of the Kim Deal show, also at the Roundhouse, where she also brought out a special guest: Mr Dave Grohl! All in all, it was a fantastic year for gigs and I hope 2026 will be just as good if not better.
